Thank you Serendipity, these images are nothing much without someone who appreciates them. I appreciate all the kind comments Y'all have posted. While not as good an air to air position, the nose gunner's perch is pretty spectacular as far as the view. Can't help but think of those heroes who occupied that seat in combat.

Taken from the MS Stockholm sailing along the Edge of the Gustav Adolf Land Glacier Front, North Eastern Svalbard Islands, approximately 80 degrees North.

August 2013.

200-400f/4, @ 200mm f/6.3 & 1/1250th ISO400

This particular Bear was above the Deck height, around 30 metres off the Starboard Bow, she climbed to the top of the Berge and was trying to work out how to get onboard, fortunately she wasn't able to work it out.
Stunning shot Eml i am loving what i am seeing from that 200-400 too :)

There are only a handful of B25 Bombers that are modified for photography. The best ones have the tail cone and tail gun modified for removal. There are also emergency exit portals that can be removed on the fuselage sides. The aircraft can cruise in a 185-200 knot range, although at 200 you're working it pretty hard and the fuel consumption will water your eyes.
Great shots shooter :)

Thanks Bornshooter, RPT, Click, nice to be back, note the quality of images on CR hasn't changed, missed your Ladies of Scotland Images Bornshooter, after being in 20 below I get a better idea of how difficult it is to perhaps shoot in Glasgow.

1Dx 200-400f/4, shot @ 560mm f/5.6 & 1/640th ISO320.

Almost ran this Young Male down with the Zodiac, hard to see when they are in the water with the Ice, followed him for about an hour & half until he finally came out onto Phippsoya Islands, most Northerly Islands of Svalbard @ 81.5 degrees North.

Thanks Serendipidy, I did my best to Bear up under the pressure.

This Male worked his way around these Large Walrus, the Youngsters were well hidden inside the group, he thought about it, but I don't think seriously, most of the Large Walrus probably weighed more than He did so he wandered off after 30 minutes of contemplation.

It was unfortunate but during the 16 days we didn't see any Polar Bears on a Kill, we did though see 14 different Bears including Females with single Cub.

The 1Dx Bodies worked a treat, at times we had -40 with Windchill, sitting in a Zodiac, spray coming in most times, we had one day where we had the Zodiac take a large wave that half filled the boat, the 1Dx with the 200-400f/4 just took it all, not a single issue through the trip, the only protection I use is the Lens Coat covers on the Lens, I did use the 5DMKIII but carefully and only on the ship, not in the Zodiac.

American High School football with the 1dx and 300 2.8 IS

First shot - ISO 1600, 1/640, 2.8

The second shot was later in the game and the field lighting wasn't good for photography, so I set my ISO at 4000 to go along with 1/640th and 2.8.

I like posting these night/action images because they truly show the capabilities of the 1DX.  No other camera can compare in this situation other than the D4.

Glad to hear that the 1DX worked fine in those rough conditions.

Great shots Sir!

Nice shots! Which AF case do you prefer in these dark sports conditions?
