@ M.ST... Out if interest what about the IQ dont you like. I think its incredible. Id be so proud if I produced anything like that. What is it about my untrained eye that im missing?
OK fair enough, I can understand it wouldnt be good enough for a huge brand campaign, but something smaller surley its good enough?
Thanks, answering your private question here, hope you don't mind, so other that might have the same interest can see this too
The light on top with the big stip difusser, does the general light for the hand in a very soft way, as the surface is a black glass, it does not reflect that much light, also you don't see it's reflection because the angle of the camera with the table, the light on the left from with a snoot creates a soft but small circle of light on the lower part of the neckles so you see a better detail. The light on the front right soften the shadow on the neckles over the hand on the photos you see the hand, is off on the other photos.
In the BG there is a piece of white foam hanging from a curtain bar that I stole from my room :-). I have the flash with a reflector fitted with a 10 degree honeycomb filter, and a purple filter, actually a transparent gift wrap paper color purple :-) that is what generates the reflection with the strong color purple you see on the photos.
What I'm missing, white pieces of cardboard hanged at the right angle so there is a catch to reflect by the stones, the big black stone could use that for sure. Will do next time... Love to do this so I can see these mistakes and learn for next time. At the end, it's just a hobby for me...
Postproduction, mostly to erase dust, seems to be impossible to get these photos totally dust free, and to clean reflections, some need to be softer, even softer that what I have them already.... I've learned a new technique yesterday that will try in Photoshop that might help getting it even better.....
