Fear Not, Canon Will be at Photokina 2018

By Canon Rumors | April 18, 2018 | Canon Business General

It turns out last week’s report from DIYPhotography that Canon might be skipping Photokina 2018 in September isn’t the case.

Photokina has confirmed that Canon will be attending the biggest photography trade show in Cologne, Germany which begins on September 26, 2018.

We will be attending the show and we expect a couple of big announcements from Canon.

By Canon Rumors | April 18, 2018 | Third Party Lenses

The latest report says that the long rumoured Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM OS Sport series lens will finally make an appearance ahead of Photokina, which takes place in September of 2018.

At least one patent for a new 70-200mm f/2.8 optical formula from Sigma exists.

We’ve also been told in the past that the 70-200mm f/2.8 OS Sport could be announced alongside a 70-200mm f/4 OS contemporary lens.

Two Prosumer Mirrorless Camera Bodies in Development [CR2]

Two Prosumer Mirrorless Camera Bodies in Development [CR2]

By Canon Rumors | April 17, 2018 | Canon DSLR Rumors

We’re told that Canon is actively developing two “prosumer” mirrorless cameras, both of which are full frame.

We’re told that we’ll see the flagship mirrorless camera announced first, and that a lower tier second camera would come 6 to 8 months after the flagship begins shipping.

The same source has also told us that Canon has a “a really nice solution for EF lenses on the full frame mirrorless body”, which doesn’t sound like a native EF mount is coming. That said, we’ve heard other people say a similar thing about EF lenses on the full frame mirrorless camera, but no one has come out and confirmed whether or not the body will be EF mount or something else.
