Irix, the producer of the Cine series, currently has a set of cinematographic lenses in its portfolio, including an 11mm ultra-wide-angle lens, a standard 45mm lens, and a 150mm macro telephoto lens. Today Irix premieres its fast, filter-ready wide-angle cine lens, the Irix Cine 15mm T2.6. This product will open unlimited possibilities for filmmakers and cinematographers alike.

New Lens, New Possibilities

The newest member of the family, the Irix Cine 15mm T2.6, is a fast, filter-ready ultra-wide-angle lens, which makes it an extremely versatile piece of equipment that works in a multitude of lighting conditions.

The Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 optical system is made up of 15 elements arranged in 11 groups (including 3 HR lenses, 2 EDs, and 2 ASPs). Its precise construction ensures beautiful and vivid colors, image sharpness, and minimal distortion, despite the ultra-wide field of view. Samyang announces the AF 85mm f/1.4 for the RF mount

By Canon Rumors | May 28, 2020 | Third Party Lenses

Samyang has unveiled a new autofocus lens for the RF in the AF 85mm f/1.4 prime lens.

The AF 85mm f/1.4 RF appears to be the same optical design as the Sony FE version. This lens boasts 11 elements in 8 grounds with an extra-low dispersion element and 4 high refractive index elements which help to reduce chromatic aberrations and which have the added bonus of helping reduce the size of the lens design.

Canon EOS R5 launch price will be below $4000 USD [CR3]

Canon EOS R5 launch price will be below $4000 USD [CR3]

By Canon Rumors | May 26, 2020 | Canon DSLR Rumors

The most asked question currently about the Canon EOS R5 is how much will it cost? Rumors have been mostly fueled by speculation on some retailer web sites.

I have been told that the Canon EOS R5 will come in under $4000 USD for the body, the source didn’t want to divulge the exact launch price for anonymity reasons, but it has apparently been set.

With the announcement for the Canon EOS R5 coming in July, I should start to hear more about pricing and kits in the coming weeks.

Major Canon announcements coming in June & July [CR3]

Major Canon announcements coming in June & July [CR3]

By Canon Rumors | May 25, 2020 | Canon DSLR Rumors

I’ve been at this for 12 years and I have never seen as much hype for a Canon product than we have for the Canon EOS R5. A camera that should have already been announced had it not been for the current pandemic.

I have been told that Canon will make major announcements in June and July, which will likely be the Canon EOS R5 and/or the Canon EOS R6 along with a slew of new lenses.

Initial availability could come as early as July.

… and no, I do not know anything about pricing.

*Update*: I’ve updated this post to reflect additional major Canon announcements are also coming in July. I don’t yet know which product(s) are being announced at which time.
