“2 upgrade lens come out with 1Ds Mark IV, 100-400L F4.0-5.6 IS and 50/F1.4 USM”
The 100-400 will be a hot rumor until it's actually replaced. Don't expect a 50 f/1.4 USM upgrade before a revamp of the 35L & 135L.
EF 400 f/4L IS [CR2]
A different source claims Canon has demo versions of a non DO 400 f/4L IS lens in the hands of testers. This is something I heard a few months ago, and it has resurfaced.

I think is more of a wishful thinking from the fourlegged animal, than an actual spec of the forthcoming new camera body. For instance, why would it have 4×3 and 16×9 display, and not 3×2 as the sensor itself?
I am eagerly awaiting an update of the 35/1.4 – Money burning in my pocket for the 24II and 35II and then I’m broke but a happy shooter..
When, Feb 2009? I have cash in hand for 1Ds Mark IV and 100-400L F4.0-5.6 IS.
Somehow i dont think it will be still 21MP. Might as well call it a 1dsmk3n :)
I notice that for quite a few weeks, the 400mm f/2.8 has been unavailable from a few web shops.
greetings,
The 1D MK3 will be the 3D at around 21-26 Mp and the 1D MK4 will be 28-38 Mp. and Canon will either come out with 70+ Mp medium format or something close like the new 32-38 Mp Leica Sensor but more Mp’s.
There’s no way the 1D will have that many megapixels. Dual DIGIC IV couldn’t deal with that file size at 10fps.
Can you tell wen we see it??? 2009????
any guess about mouth???
Thanx

It seems a safe bet that Canon will release the next 1Ds model within the next few months. Sales of the 1Ds Mk III have probably slowed to a crawl with the new 5D Mk II about to hit the market with a better sensor, and any pro wanting this body has bought it long ago. Also, Canon’s profits are way down so maybe releasing this expensive body will be a needed shot in the arm for sales.
