On June 17, Sigma is going to have a big day of announcements. They will be announcing two very cool lenses for the RF mount!
Sigma will be having some full-frame lens announcements in late August or early September, but Canon probably won't be part of the fun.
However, these new RF APS-C lenses that Sigma is going to be bringing to market are quite impressive just based from the letters and numbers in this article, but Sigma hasn't disappointed shooters with a bad product in a long time.

New Sigma Lenses
Sigma 17-40mm f/1.8 DC DN ART
This one works out to a 27-64mm f/1.8 34mm equivalent. There hasn't been a lens like this that I can remember, we all probably owned the EF 17-40mm f/4L USM at some point in our lives, but that's really all I can think of.
This will be a hot selling zoom for Sigma as Canon shooters are going to embrace it.

Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary (With an Aperture Ring)
Canon puts out a 20mm f/1.4L VCM for full-frame, which is the fastest and widest 20mm Canon has ever made.
Sigma looks to be one upping Canon for APS-C RF shooters. The new lens works out to about 19mm f/1.4 in 35mm terms, which is oh so 1mm wider.
This Sigma lens will come with an aperture ring, though we're not sure if there will be any sort of tricks with the aperture ring, or if it'll simply just be that.
This will also be a big selling lens for Sigma, APS astro shooters are probably hoping Sigma got this one right.
Summary
All of this will become official on June 17, 2025 during B&H Photo Bild Expo in New York City.
Sigma looks to be well ahead of Tamron in the RF APS-C race and we expect that to continue and to see a lot more “higher-end” APS-C offerings from Sigma.

Well, the Sigma 18–35mm/1.8 A would have a word 😉 Seems reasonably likely that this is an upgraded version with a few mm of extra zoom range.
To those who understand equivalence, the advantages of APS-C remain lower cost and size/weight. The FFeq of 17-40/1.8 is 27-64/2.9, so my RF 24-105/2.8 is ‘better’. Likewise, 12/1.4 is equivalent to 19/2.2 and the extra 1-1/3 stops of my 20/1.4 is worth more than the 0.5 mm difference (to me, based on DxO correction of barrel distortion).
As for the lenses rumored, I'm not excited at all, I use my FF cameras and lenses for that kind of work, but I'm glad people are happy
Both, APS-C RF 17-40mm f/1.8 and RF 12mm f/1.4, sound really great.
Having the 18-50/2.8, I expect image and built quality at the same level as the already released Sigma RF lenses.
Especially the f/1.8 zoom will be interesting.
