I'm usually not first in line for a lens, but I do really want a 24. Lenses like this is also why I don't shoot Nikon. :)

Man, this is a lot of money for this lens. I think I’ll be sticking with 24 1.4L 1, thank you.
I agree with CR to why I only shoot with Canon. I have the EF 35mm f/1.4 L USM, EF 85mm f/1.2 II L USM, and EF 135mm f/2 L USM. Nikon doesn’t have good glasses in prime. Now I’m looking to purchase this glass as well. One day, I hope to get EF 200mm f/2 L IS USM when the price go down (current price tag at B&H $4,999.00).
What is the primary use of a lens like this?
my 24 is my main lens. I shoot a lot of interiors and architectural. I also like to use it for portraits with lots of background. It is great for subjects on the beach and such.
I don’t have any complaints with the first 24 1.4L so I’ll keep using it until the price of this one comes down a bit.
It is also very popular with photo journalist and that is probably why Canon updated this along side the 5D2.
