Canon has released new firmware for the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. This firmware fixes an issue that was present in version 1.7.0.

In firmware version 1.7.0, it has been confirmed that the power may not turn on immediately after the update is completed under certain conditions, so we will release a new firmware version 1.7.1 that incorporates the fix.

This firmware incorporates the following fixes:

  1. Added [Save and read communication settings to card] to the menu. Network settings can now be transferred between cameras of the same model.
  2. It is now possible to crop and resize images during image transfer to an FTP server.
  3. Fixed an issue that caused some cameras that meet certain conditions to stop turning on immediately after the firmware version 1.7.0 update was completed.
  4. Fixed minor bugs.

  1. A firmware update to fix an issue introduced by a firmware upgrade. Not good really .
Overall the 1DX III updates have been poor in terms of any real improvements .
