A sign a new waterproof camera is on its way is Canon Canada seems to be replaceing broken D10's with whole new cameras, instead of fixing them.
I've seen this once before with a midlevel PowerShot, and sure enough it was replaced shortly after.
There are lots of factors that probably go into these decisions, but cost of warehousing them is definitely a factor. A discontinued PowerShot is a hard sell for retailers outside of the G series.
Theres also perception issues and high administrative costs to just pricedrop a camera to get rid of them.
Entire 2010/2011 Season of House By Canon DSLR?
I received information that the makers of House plan to shoot the entire next season with the 5D Mark II and possibly the 7D.
However, this time they would be adapting PV & possibly PL lenses.

Re. whole House season, seems unlikely. The editor said it took far more cleanup in post, so it may not have been any cheaper for them. The main benefit would be faster workflow off the camera, but that shouldn’t make much difference for a scripted show.
dont believe a thing of it by then theres newer dslr’s with a better sensor and better movies features as far as i know even the 550d is better moviewise then the 5d2 unless they shoot with real crappy lighting.
call me when they release a completely waterproof DSLR….

No way House shoots the whole season on SLRs. The finale episode looked OK, but nowhere near as good as their typical film results. The cameras present too much of an issue with monitoring, handling, post workflow, etc. However, I (and my 5D MkII) would love to be wrong.
