Topaz Labs isn't one to have a lot of discounts and sales during the year, but they are currently offering $30 off one of our favourite pieces of software that does a fair number of things better than Lightroom. It has been part of my workflow for a while now.
Topaz Labs is constantly updating and adding new features to Photo AI. It is now at version 3.4.4.

Photo AI comes with a 2 seat license and free updates for at least a year. Extra seats can be purchased, but it costs $99.50 to add one seat.
There will be a cost to upgrade to Photo AI 4 whenever it comes to market, but Photo AI 3 will continue to work and be supported with bug fixes.
Topaz Labs has a ‘renewal' process, which allows you to save on any upgrades for Photo AI.
Super Focus
The latest big feature added to Photo AI 3 is ‘Super Focus'. This feature works quite well, but you'll need some computer horsepower to use it efficiently on some images.
Super focus is a new generative AI tool available in Photo AI version 3.3.0 that has the ability to fix blur and extract detail. This tool acts as a alternative solution for those stubborn and more difficult images that cannot be enhanced through Photo AI’s other sharpening models.
The Super Focus model has higher requirements for processing than other AI models.
For Windows, 8GB VRAM is required for processing locally. For Mac, macOS 13 or higher is required. It is currently not supported on Macs with AMD Radeon graphics cards.
Super Focus Best Practices
- Results best shown on images that are at least 4 megapixels or larger images
- Works best for out of focus and soft images
- For best results, recover faces after super focus, especially on small to medium sized faces as face details are altered by super focus
- For best results, use preserve text after super focus on small to medium sized text as it may be altered by super focus.
