R3 in Cold Weather

I am comparing the specs on Canon R3 and Nikon Z9 on B&H. Under temperature performance (in Farenheit), the Nikon is rated down to 14 degrees but the Canon is only rated to 32 degrees (freezing). Surely this can't be right, that a gripped pro body will not work below freezing? Has anyone used an R3 in low temperatures and able to give a report?

I’ve used my R3 in temps below freezing (and my R in even colder temps, single digits Fahrenheit).

I have used my R3 at temperatures as low as 25 F, but honestly I prefer to photograph when temperatures are warmer at 50 F or higher.

The coldest I've used my R3 was at 12 F. It worked fine. I've seen shoots where people have used the R3 & R5 in the Arctic shooting Polar Bears (well below zero) as well.

Not R3, but I've used the lesser R5 in 15 degree Fahrenheit with no problem

This is likely stating the obvious: Keep in mind that the current batteries need to have their dielectric fluid be, well, fluid to function. So regardless of body specs, batteries will always be a weak point at lower temperatures.

Always best, to keep a spare battery close to the body.
I've worked with my 5D4 and LP-E6 (old) at least 1 hour at -18°C (0°F) before Christmas.
The spare battery stayed in the pocket. But the drain was much faster because of the low temps.
