100-400 II change in center of gravity with zoom

Hi,

Does anyone know how far the C of G moves forward as the inner barrel extends? I'm interested in one for airshows.

I've never really noticed it, but I mostly keep it at 400mm, so how much does it move back if you zoom out?

I tried a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary today and it was noticeable how much it changed but it wasn't to the point that it would make a gimbal hard to use; knowing that the 100-400 is similar is one thing I need before I worry about buying one.

I haven't checked that out but I have a 4.5" plate and is plenty to keep my gripped 7D2 and the 100-400M2 in balance on my gimbal.

Ok right on, thank you; I figured it wouldn't be too great a change.

It's not much, in hand it's not very noticeable. I'd estimate around 1 maybe 1.5 inch change with my 6D mounted.

I have the Wimberley head, 5d3 gripped, the zoom does effect the balance but it is minor as said.
