1D X Not shipping BEFORE May 15

Just got word from my local right after the canon preview night (which didn't contain a 1D X) in Western Australia that the 1D X will NOT be shipping BEFORE May 15

I really hope this information is incorrect!

That sounds in the ball park to me. Somewhere from the first of may and later.

I'm very close to giving in and getting a 5D3 just for the next month and a bit to get me through my workload... Sick of hiring gear :/ but then reselling it would be a pain.

This waiting game is getting pretty old...

We know that Canon's been hit by the tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand. But Nikon's been hit harder, and they still came out with their two new bodies, mostly on schedule.

Especially after giving such an early announcement so we could "plan ahead," I think Canon could be a bit more transparent for our sake.

Sure, they have all the right to keep silent. That's their choice. But with all the recent ridiculous delays in lens releases and this 1D X, this playing around with their customers plans and expectations is getting tedious.

I'm still going to wait...and hoping that it'll be a solid camera...

i've just received an email from CPS.
Basically it says that the Canon 1D X will be sold in late april/early may.
