1DX II price rise!

This morning, I got an email from Clifton Cameras advising £430 bonus trade in with any working DSLR against a new 1DX II
Had a look at their site and see it's price has risen from £4799 to £5429!!! No wonder there is a trade in offer!
Did I miss an announcement?

they are always very lucky in the US when it comes to pricing. compared to europe at least.

The USD has fallen compared to the GBP, I wonder why and Canon wants some compensation for that... )

Yes. I always feel sorry for those in Europe when it comes to pricing. We also have the advantage of Canon's refurbished offers and the great negotiating from our friend to the north (Canada) at Canon Price Watch. After a brief spike in price, the CPW street price is now down to $5,000, just $200 over the refurbished price.

I have a standing offer to hand deliver a 1DXII to Europe or Great Britain for the price of a couple of round trip tickets.

I did check with other main UK retailers, all at the new rip off price now. How to kill a market overnight.

It was bad enough at £4799. Luckily I got mine for 4599 from an authorised Canon dealer. I was tempted by the p/ex offer until I saw the new joke price.
