Yeah, I definitely don't get the term 3D X. That just makes no sense. There aren't two 3-D lines to cross. However, if there is a high MP camera produced, I wonder what it would be called.

I'm not too optimistic for Canon's announcements at Photokina. It is too quiet and we have less than 3 weeks left... I just hope Canon does have something for us as it is getting realy busy in the Nikon's camp. Something is coming up on the 13th at the press conference in Dubai (celebration of a new addition to their dslr line - as per post on NR). I think it'll be in the best interest for Canon to announce an entry level FF body now.

Personally, I think its possible for the name to utilize a "3D" component for a pro-level body. People who can get confused with 3D do not shop for this level of equipment.

Yep, they are using the two CR1 posts from this site (that were also sourced from NL) to say what will "be announced". Very, very silly, considering what CR1 means. Interestingly, they didn't bother to mention the 100-400, new 400mm, new 35mm, new 50mm, new 45mm and 90mm T/S, new 70D, new cheap full-frame, or any of the other items (new 430ex, etc) that have been CR1 in the same time frame. Kind of lazy/bad for credibility to put them in the "what to expect" category

Good catch preppyak. Looks like the rumor has come full circle. I thought that PR would only post things it is very confident will be announced at Photokina. Maybe it's true, but it seems like a CR1 rumor might have just been inflated by another website. Time will tell.

The Samyang 24mm f/3.5 tilt-shift lens looks real interesting though, wonder what the cost will be?
