Just out of curiosity, typically how much is the markdown on a refurb? Does it come with factory warranty?

5D Mark II new is 2199, refurb 1759. 90 day Canon warranty.

They were gone in a few hours, so I did not get one early this morning. I'll keep trying.

The CLP price is about $1415 plus sales tax and shipping.

I was looking back through quite a few of my 5D Mark II photos from when I had the camera, and even the in-camera JPG copies are excellent. The IQ is really great. There is just "something" about those photos that's different, not better per se, but different, than the 5D Mark III photos that I really miss. I'm getting a new one as a third body I believe. Really nice camera for what it can do. Has anyone ever compared to the 1Ds Mark III? I often wondered about that.

I actually just got my 5DmkII, new in December, at ~$2kUSD. It's a great camera. I hadn't even considered getting a refurb, but it sounds like they can be tough to come by. I felt like I got a great deal on a new one, just in time for the 5DmkIII to come out at $3500USD. :-)

I got my refurb 5Dii for 1400 USD from Canon during one of their 20% off refurb sales!

The camera looks, feels and smells new.

You just have to be patient for those deals, then constantly update the refurb page for when it is updated in stock- then strike fast!

The first thing I did with that camera was pop in an EG-s focusing screen and use it with my manual focus Samyang 35 f/1.4.

Sweet setup for under 2k!
