hey guys, there is a fabric on the other side of the viewfinder glass. i have no idea how it got in there, tried blowing it with an air blower and wiping it. Its definitely on the other side, how did this happen. Is there a way to blow out the fabric without exposing the mirror?

Pretty sure that's on the underside of the focus screen inside the lens mount area. Non-canned air blowers are the best way to take care of that kind of dust.

thanks for the response, but its not the focus screen. its on the viewfinder glass, its probably impossible to get rid of... but if theres a way in theres a way out right?

The viewfinder isn't hollow. It's a solid pentaprism. Unless the dust is between the diopter adjustment and the pentaprism, there's no way for it to be behind the viewfinder. If it is between the diopter adjustment and the pentaprism, there's no way to get at it, except to disassemble the camera entirely.

It has to be somewhere else; otherwise it's a major problem that has to be fixed by Canon.

Correction: There might be a space between the eye piece and the pentaprism. It should still be sealed though. If dust can get in there then there might be a problem, but as you said, it won't affect your images.

yeah after inspecting for an hour, its definitely on the opposite side. I tried using tape to grab it, definitely unreachable. This annoying spec probably got in there when it was manufactured.
