Hiya everyone, I'm new here, but been a fan of Canon Rumors for a long time. Quick question; with my 7D when my camera went to sleep, all I had to do is click a button to wake it up. This doesn't seem to happen with my 5D mk III, I have to turn it off and back on to wake it up. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks right, that's how it should work, but I figured it out. My battery after only few uses were almost dead, so I'm guessing that's the reason. Thanks for the assist.

"My battery... were almost dead,"

By chance were you using a BG-E11 with one battery in it. I know mine will not wake from sleep under that condition and needs a power OFF-On to start it up again

Really? BG-E11 has that issue?
If so, Canon needs to fix it because the 3rd party brand does NOT have that issue…
But one thing i have to agree, the mk3 DOES wake up a tad bit slower than my 60D..not sure why..it's not a major difference, but you do feel it slower.

I felt that the battery life was poor on mine. I seemed to get about 1/3 less use from it.

Wow, at all the shoots before I got my BG-E11, one LP-E6 lasted the entire day, over 2000 shots.

And my 5D3+BG-E11 wakes up (albeit slowly) with any button press. I think I'll just adjust the sleep timer to something longer.. maybe 5 minutes.

I had this problem also, Canon 5D Mark iii not waking up after sleeping. I was using third party battery (Hahnel), switched to use a proper Canon battery and the problem was resolved - waking up with no problem now.
