We've just heard from Canon, over on their own forum, that they have acknowledged the problem, and a fireware fix should be in the pipeline

I'm now a very happy 5D3 owner...

thats good news,
I wonder if they will roll it into the april update or pump out something intermediate sooner
or possibly more likely... later :-\

I'm sure this fix will make your work easier, but damn, you're doing pretty well with what you've got... really like this shot!!
