6D2 .cr2 thumbnails will not display

HELP!

I have a windows 10 laptop, and the .cr2 thumbnails from a 6D2 will not display. Interestingly enough, .CR2 files from other Canons (7D2, 60D, 5D2) do display...

Lightroom is installed on the laptop, and will properly read the files.... but that is the only software on it that can.

Microsoft stopped updating the windows codec years ago, so CR2 files (and CR3's) do not display the embedded jpg image in windows. There is a add-in software that does it, I've tried it and wasn't totally happy so I don't use it.

Just to add to that, I really like thumbnail display and native file open in photo viewer. For this reason, I will actually use an 80D quite often, as its CR2s preview =X
