Hope some of you guys can answer this question.

I will like to get the most crisp pictures with state of the art lens when I get my new 7D2.

Will it be okay to put a EF 24-105 F4L IS USM on a EOS 7D mark II?
Can there be any problems with corners etc. using the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM on a crop camera?

Thx :)

If you don't miss the wide angle it's ok. I would use a better all-around lens for APS-C like the 17-55mm f/2.8 or the 15-85mm that give me wide angle coverage. 24mm in APSC is equivalent to a narrower angle similar to 38mm

You'd be surprised by how good the cheap EF-S lenses are. The 18-135mm STM replaced my 24-105L for use on crop sensor (C100/300 and 7/60D). I am a video shooter therefore my optical requirements are significantly lower than you guys, my lenses only needs to resolve 2 megapixels so sharpness is not an issue for most lenses.

Compared to the L, it's significantly wider and that makes it a very convenient focal range from wide to tele. It has excellent stabilization and the optical peeformance is not worse than the 24-105. It's also smaller, lighter. And costs a fraction. Only downside, it's mechanically weaker. If you don't need the strength the 18-135 actually is a better lens for crop bodies.

Another EF-S that's a must to have in your bag, the new 10-18mm. That thing is bloody brilliant and it's 299$!

The 24-105L f4 is stopped down till f8-f11 a very flexible and walkaround lens on a FF. I was pleasantly surprised by this lens after I added a FF camera. On the 7D however, I found the 10-22 and the 70-200 f2.8 much better in IQ. If you have that 24-105L, don't change but keep it, just do stop down enough. If you want to buy, I would look for a better lens on APS-C

+1 on the EF-S 10-22mm and EF 70-200mm. I'd add the excellent EF-S 15-85mm to cover the middle for a great kit.
