Camera body advice

So my rebel xsi has met an unfortunate demise and I'm looking for advice on a replacement. I only have between 400 to $600 ish (cdn) to spend on a new (to me) body. I have the standard kit lens, 35 2.0, 50 1.8, and 85 1.8. I shoot primarily people with a smattering of whatever else catches my eye. I'm looking for opinions on a replacement body. 5dc, t3i, 50d or anything else in that price range. I would like to know what body any of you would choose (my list is just an example and not my specific selection). Not having video is not a big deal for me. I'm not blowing my images up huge so a high MP count isn't my priority. For me image quality is most important, ie great low iso files, reasonable high iso (I occasionally shoot some sports indoors and find the xsi wanting at iso 1600). Also, getting the shot in focus, especially with the fast primes. Afma would be a nice feature. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there to get others opinions, especially if you've had experience with multiple cameras in that price range.

a used 50D would be the only choice in that price range if you want AFMA.

Yeah, they made an awesome sensor for the T2i and then used it in every camera for years after that. If you're on a low budget, I'd grab the T2i or 60D or T3i or 7D or T4i or T5i or SL1 or EOS-M or whatever. T2i's got the same sensor and same image quality as the rest, unless you're doing a bunch of video you're not going to miss out on much.

I would recommend the 60D, yeah it doesn't have AFMA but you can get it for around $709 brand new delivered from BH Photo to Canada. That is a brand new camera and it is a steal at that price.

I had it for about a year and only traded it in because I went fullframe. The landscape and wildlife pics with it look awesome and the articulating display is great for those weird angles and is the functionality I miss the most on the 6D.

If you still have your old camera, consider a refurb from Canon using the Canon Loyalty Program. There's a 60D and a T4i (with a kit lens) for $719 and a couple of T3i's for $400's on the site right now. And the CLP gets a discount off that price.
