Canon EOS R5 Mark II Firmware Rumors & Speculation

Excellent! Thanks. Do you have a recommendation for a dew heater that you used and like?
I have a Svbony dew heater that runs off USB power and are cheap and cheerful. The 12v powered ones are not needed.

MSM also makes astro trackers. Haida mostly known for lens filters. Neewer known for everything from flash/strobes to tripods.

For complicated deep space setups then Kendrick is probably the gold standard https://www.kendrickastro.com/dew_premierheaters.html

According to Asobinet, Canon has announced new firmware that includes password setting when starting up the camera: “It will be compatible with the new DIGIC X generation products, and the password setting screen will be displayed when the camera is started up. The firmware is scheduled to be released on July 17th.”.

Doesn’t sound like this will be too helpful in most cases. As stated in the article, this new password feature isn’t about preventing camera theft; rather, it’s about protecting data inside the camera.

Canon marketing: "Y'all remember those bugs you reported through CPS? Well, we ignored those completely and now give you a halfbaked password feature!"

"Canon is going to be releasing new firmware for most of the current EOS R lineup. The big updates will come to the EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II."

I know it says current, Is the R5 still in production and if so what is the R5 going to get?

My dear Canon! Please bring back RAW saving when shooting multiple exposures! In Canon R5 all multiple exposure modes were saved in RAW. Why does Canon R5 m2 only work in JPEG format for multiple exposures?
