Canon Releases New Firmware: 5DIII v1.3.3 & 1DX v2.0.7

Seems like the story that came out a few weeks ago about the inability to downgrade from 1.3.3 once installed is true (according to CW).

Essentially that means no Magic Lantern support for 5DIII bodies fresh out of the factory... what a shame :/

Reading through the specs of the update it does not ring "urgently needed" to me. With ML now available for 1.2.3 I guess I will stick with that for a while...

Just installed it. No miracles happened but my5DIII did not brick, either.
Did not even lose the C1-C3 presets.
OK, done, thoughI do not exactly know what for.

Can you tell us something about the AF control improvement in Live View?

My impression is that it is faster than before. About 1.5 sec to achieve focus in non-moving subjects.
