Does Pentax K-01 show Canon's future mirrorless direction?

So, Pentax has released the K-01 -which is basically an SLR with the mirror and viewfinder removed. The main advantage of this for the user is that it should be fully compatible with most K-mount lenses (the advanage for the company is that it should be cheaper to produce and yet command a premium price!). The disadvantage is that you lose phase detect AF and the optical viewfinder and only get a marginally smaller body than the K5 in return.

With Canon pretty luke warm on the whole mirrorless business, might this concept prove an attractive option for them? Earlier in the year Canon were saying how they could still make DSLRs smaller and questioned whether mirrorless cameras needed interchangeable lenses. Now we've had the G1X, which falls nicely into the latter category, might we soon see Canon's version of the K-01?
