DxO Limitations

I want software other than Canon DPP.

DxO states: DxO PureRAW is a RAW only software, the camera/lens combination must be supported as the modules are created specifically for processing.

I shoot with a R5 and R6. My lenses include:

Samyang XP 14mm
Samyang XP 35mm
Samyang XP 50mm
Sigma 70mm Art

DxO has no module for those lenses. I have other lenses, BTW.

DxO states: In DxO PhotoLab, TIFF and JPEG can be processed without the module, but module specific corrections are not available.

So neither DxO PureRAW nor DxO PhotoLab are my all-in-one solution, according to DxO.

I had the impression that DxO is a really good alternative. Now I feel I am missing something. Is DxO PureRAW truly that limited? Is there no way to use it without a module?

The best is is to download PureRaw and try it with the lenses you mention. PureRaw has a 14 day trial period, it is fully functional during the trial period.

IIRC, for non-supported lenses PhotoLab offered the profiles of similar lenses for download the first time it saw that lens. Regardless, PL supports any lens as long as the camera is supported. There are no modules for the TS-E lenses, and I've been processing RAWs from them in DxO PL (and DxO Optics Pro before that) for over 15 years.

For example, this one with the R8 and TS-E 17:

"Trevi Fountain"

EOS R8, TS-E 17mm f/4L, 4 s, f/8, ISO 100

There is also some free RAW software. I don't think it's as good as Photolab for most things, but Darktable is still good enough and it is free if you want to save some money.
