FASC designation

So at the bottom of canon's 24-70 II page, "FASC" appears among the alphabet soup down there. Anyone know what it is or is canon hiding something from us?

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Fluorine Coating on the front and back glass to reduce smears and fingerprints. It does seem to be a mystery though, I can't find any information concerning FASC as relating to Canon Lenses on the web. The 8-15mm f/4L also gets the Fluorine Coating but isn't tagged as a FASC lens, so who knows.

70-300L has the coating but not the designation. Maybe that and the fisheye were the 'prototypes', and/or the marketing department just decided more letters were best (you know, to compete with tamron's alphabettispaghetti lens names...)
