Favorite Camera/Lens Combination for the Beach?

Summer is waning in the north and my mind is drifting to planning a getaway to someplace warm and beachy to escape the snow and ice.

What's your Favorite body and lens combination for taking to the beach? I'll start.

I like my 1Ds Mk II with the 17-40L

Why?
It impresses the locals who would recognize 10 year old technology
Even with 12-bit raw & only 16MP it still takes nice images
With a filter it is weather-sealed
It's not too much to lose if stolen or broken

And, if someone does try to mug you you can beat them to death with it and still take a picture of their lifeless body

5D Mark III, 70-200mm, 400mm, and a 600 if I had it. Why? Because I am an honest perv. and that is why I go to the beach. 8)

I couldn't care less about impressing the locals or anyone else. In fact, I don't even want them to know I am there in my cabana beneath my extra large beach towel.

Yup! That's me! Canon Rebel XSi and EF-S 55-250mm / EF-S 17-85 Daytona Beach 2010... back in the olden days. I like your photos much more. I was just getting started and then got stranded in the purgatory that is the Mojave desert in Nevada.
