I had to laugh about the comment to which I reacted with an attempt to humor. You did not post a mistake, you spotted a subject that a lot of people would have overlooked. I like the brown leaf against the white background and the pattern of white hairs on the leaf. I just wonder if it was possible to give the leaf a bit more “breathing space” on the right side of the picture.

Oh, my response was an attempt at humor also.
And I agree more breathing space on the right would have been nice, but I had several leaves using up that room. In the left side background there was another out of focus leaf laying on top of the snow.
This was a crowded little area that was very tight. I didn't want to disturb anything and create divots in the snow.
I thought about removing items in post, but decided to accept what nature froze for me. Well, aside from overexposing by a couple of stops to reveal the details.

He is just complaining about the season! I think the photo is interesting idea (not sure if it's new idea but it's still interesting!).

I don't know what amount of snow did you have there ("...and do something more useful!") but for sure what you did is by far more fun!!!

P.S. On Oahu I haven't seen snow so far but since I came here only 23 years ago from Europe I know how boring it's to shovel the snow !

Yep. Kneeling in snow on a breezy 17F day while supporting one hand 10" high plastic container(more convenient than tripod) was more rewarding than the recent daily snow removal.
But I'm still looking forward to Spring wildflowers.

Damn it - I can't find any thing frosted around ! Didn't check in the fridge but we usually don't keep flowers there ...
