Not likely, I do not expect to see it replaced frequently. Its not a big seller, and Canon will not likely want to spend a lot of $$ on upgrading it.
I bought mine for $799 from Adorama last fall. Included was a 9500 MK II printer, Adobe software, and a $400 rebate. After selling the printer and software, my net cost was $160.
