Just got the 5D4. I am setting up the GPS Mode 2. The GPS on the top display kept flashing. Is that the way it's suppose to be or is there a way to stop it from flashing?

Hi mw.
Corydoras is correct in what he said, see page 232 of the 5DIV (UK English) manual.
Also note the advice on how to acquire the GPS signal. Bear in mind that for the first time or after a large distance has been travelled from the last GPS location it can take significantly longer to acquire a lock. Standing still 2 or 3 minutes, if I turn GPS on before walking from the road in to the local hide it can take 5 or more minutes, yes it seems walking speed can make it harder to acquire a lock, and yes I carry the camera the right way up until it has a GPS lock then let it hang on the BR strap as normal, I have to do that as it pretty much won't acquire a lock inverted however long it tries, but it can maintain a lock when carried inverted, it also seems to be able to maintain a GPS lock in moderate foliage cover, or perhaps it just fakes it somehow.

Cheers, Graham.

A GPS lock can be impossible to get indoors.

I live in a house with a steel roof and aluminum siding.... NO GPS signal inside..... Cell only works at the patio door....

In the lab where I work, GPS will only work if I put a dedicated GPS antenna up against the south facing window..... nowhere else, and that is with a FAR better antenna than you will find on a camera....

GPS may not work under a heavy tree canopy, particularly with snow covered evergreens....

The best way to get it to lock is to go outside, find a spot with a decent view of the horizon, and be prepared to wait for several minutes. The next time you use it, it will start off thinking it is at the position last used, so as long as you have not moved a long way away (25+ kilometers) it should be able to immediately find the satellites it thinks should be visible, ( not have to search through the list), and the time to signal lock will be much faster.
