Hey guys, Advice on Protection Plan for Camera bodies like 1DX

Hi all, im still new to photography and Canon, and was wondering if I could get some advice about what is the best protection plan thats worth its buck for like the 1DX. I have preordered it from BH, and they have the protection plans of 3 and 5 years there, but I wanted to see if there are other options available, maybe from third party vendors, or maybe direct from Canon itself. Also, is there any to cover from theft? Thank you guys for your help!!

Best to interpret "professional" the simplest way....you make money at it.

If you make anything that anyone can know about, don't count on homeowners' insurance to cover you.

VERY important what CanineCandids said. If you make ANY money at photography, you are considered a professional photographer, and your homeowners won't cover it. If you buy your camera with AMEX GOLD or PLATINUM card, they automatically extend the manufactures warranty for one more year. Which gives you two years instead of one, and that costs you nothing. AMEX PERKS! And yes, ive tested it. I even busted a brand new iPad and Amex replaced it free for me since it was less than 90 days old.

Otherwise pickup an insurance policy. I HIGHLY recommend MARSH for any professional photographers. Great service, reasonable rates, and only $100 deductible! (ok, now off to get a marketing job for AMEX LOL!)
