With the talk of a RETRO Canon camera body, I think about those who are for this or opposed to the idea and what age bracket they might fall into. One side of me says that the people interested in an AE-1 Retro-style camera might skew to the older crowd that used an AE-1. Another thought is that your generation loves the look and would be behind this.

I want to start a poll to see where the age group lies.

Ol' broken record (Me) is back at it. I fully support the concept of an older camera style, but would prefer something like the Canon P or the QL17 GIII style. Or even an F1/F1n (NOT New F1). I'd happily take that over an AE-1 plain jane looking old timey camera. But that's just me.

You’re missing a “don’t care” option.
Indeed. If Canon decides to bring one to market, it will be because they believe it will sell. Not to me, I have no interest in buying one. But for those who want one, great for them.

Well, for those who are happy with the features. I expect the usual complaints about MP count (this porridge is too cold!), dial placement, etc.

I'm not sure you know the age range here - over 55 probably accounts for the majority. Add 56-70, 71-85, and 86-100 to get a more defined distribution.

Sorry. I can't support or reject a camera I know so little about.

Will I buy it just because it is "retro"? No.

Could I buy it if it somehow fits my needs? Absolutely.

I 2nd this! I like certain aspects of those bodies such as being so minimal and material used in them and craftmanship built into them. The feel when you hold them. The ergonomy for street photography. Leica has always been there with the luxury price tag. I think Fuji and Nikon has attempted to deliver such concepts at a more reasonable value. Canon has been missing it so far; they rarely ever tried! What we hear about RE1 is not there either. I also like a revisit of Canonet or F1 for modern days.

That option is there. It's called don't participate in the poll.
Well, strictly speaking that’s not true: if you don’t have an option present in a poll / questionnaire you have no way of knowing how many people would have selected it if it was present. You can’t just assume anyone who doesn’t pick one of the available options would have picked the nonexistent one, because you have no way of knowing the total population size and how many of those people haven’t voted because they just haven’t seen the poll.

Only 12 have bothered to vote so the don't cares may well be the majority.
