Nikon Announces the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S

Traitor? I've had 2 different systems for a long time now...
Well, Canon could solve this easily... just announce a RF 35 1.2
Canon love to torture their best customers.
Some are waiting desperately for an RF 28mm f/1,4 or an RF 35mm f/1,2, while impatiently I'm waiting for the 14mm T/S, the 180mm macro, the 24-70 f/2 etc,,,

At this point, we've had enough rumors to fill everyone's wettest dreams... but no confirmation on any of the lenses you list.
CR says that 2025 will be the year of RF-S, which will surely make a lot of people happy, but leaves me cold.
Oh well, DJI will release a new Mavic Pro so the 3 grands that could have gone to Canon will go to them instead

I think an RF -> Z adapter is more likely. The flange focal distance for Z is 16mm while for RF it is 20mm. There are Sony E -> Nikon Z adapters (Sony E flange distance is 18mm).
Yes understood. Unfortunately I'm not rich enough to add a 3rd system to the 2 I have already....
So it looks like I will have to wallow in envy and self-pity

It's a shame Canon released a 'hybrid' 35mm f/1.4 with a horrible circle of projection instead of a proper optically corrected 35mm f/1.2.
You can't ask so much money for a lens and rely on software correction. The way to go IMO is the RF 85mm f/1.2.

The Nikon is almost twice the money and twice the price. There is always a compromise somewhere.

Yes, there are always compromises, but I think the Nikkor 35mm f/1.2 is worth every cent. In my case I'd happily pay the premium and carry the extra weight for a lens that makes a difference.

Sure, just back up a few meters and totally change the perspective, assuming you don’t back into a wall or over a cliff first. ;)
I was obviously saying Canon had to follow the path they started with the RF 85mm f/1.2 and realease a 35mm f/1.2 instead of the f/1.4. I hope somehow there's a Canon RF 35mm f/1.2L on the way.
