I think this is exciting stuff, seeing Canon start to actually invest in their crop systems. I think it is appropriate to give a small thanks to the likes of Fuji, Olympus, Sony, etc. that have created the competition to get Canon to step up a bit. Hopefully a lot less of this "crop is for starting out, everyone eventually moves to full frame" stuff.

It would be awesome to see an aperture upgrade on the kit lens.

It's sad to say, but I kind of like seeing the big camera companies getting squeezed by the cell phone market, it gets us some juicy sweet lenses.
