I can certainly emphasize with Roger in respect to the difficulties of testing consumer products. In my case I have tested ham radio transceivers for 40 years. As product improves over time, the testing equipment and procedures have to improve. Any bias has to be eliminated as much as is humanly possible. No payments can ever be accepted, nor free or discounted product. Mistakes happen, and must be corrected and publicized. Ethics and credibility are all you have since the testing is free, and it is a hobby. At some point someone will say you "sold out" due to a good review. In the end, it is rewarding to give back to the hobby, whatever kind of product is being evaluated. Whenever someone posts one of Roger's articles, I always read them and forward them on to my photography friends. Thank you for all the hours spent to give us your insight.
