So, I got my 5D Mark III w/24-105 kit lens last night! :D Wow! Absolutely in love with it, from the very first picture I took I was instantly impressed and could tell the difference night and day from my previous camera, 550D/T2i. It feels good to be full frame, and the focal lengths on the zoom make sense to me now as they're exactly the same as my film cameras.

I just have one small question about the LCD screen, does it have a protector on it that can be replaced if it gets scratched like the Mk II? Reason I ask is that it looks very different to the 5D II and my 550D in pictures as the glass doesn't cover the Canon logo on the back, and I'm not sure whether I can replace it if it gets scratched or I should invest in a screen protector.

Thanks in advance guys! :)

It's the same display technology as other recent Canon bodies, so almost certainly the cover is a user-replaceable piece of glass. Might take a while to get the part this early on, though...

Thank you very much Neuro! And of course I don't mean to say I've totalled my LCD screen already :p Just over the past 6 months I've owned a 550D/T2i I've noticed some slight hairline scratches through normal use, and if it wasn't replaceable I would put a screen protector on top :)
Thanks again!

The glass LCD covers on all the Canon DSLR's are held on by double back adhesive tape. The 5D MK II had Canon printed or silk screened on the bottom of the glass and cost me $35.00 for a replacement. I put it on when I sold the camera so the new owner would have a fresh start. Mine had light hailine scratches that were barely visible, but the new one was nice.

The third party sellers take advantage of people who do not know that there is already a very high quality cover over the LCD that is easily replacable.

After a few months or a year, I'll order a replacement to have in the event I need it, or if I sell the camera.
