Replacement Kit Lens under $500?

Look, I know you guys are probably tired of me asking questions about cheap lens, seeing that most of you guys have L lenses. But I find this forum to be extremely helpful in my decisions for Canon products, so I turn to you guys first

Well, I've got a question:
Is there a good lens that can replace my Canon 18-55mm lens that is under $500. I don't mind if it's not Third Party lens (i.e. Sigma, Tamron, etc.).

I'm not looking for a prime since I borrow my team's Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and Canon 50mm f/1.8.

If I were to ask the type of lens I'd like to have, I'm looking for a walk around lens.

Again, I'm really sorry for having repeat post about replacing my kit lens, I just want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely.

if crop only is ok, the tamron 17-50 f2.8

there is a VC version, but its slightly less sharp than the amazing non vc version. depends on what you need.

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 non-VC indeed. Sharpest zoom you can get in that range for such a low price, with such a big aperture.

+1 for the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non VC. I will be getting one shortly, and they're under £300 in the UK so should be well within budget.
