The Full Official Specifications for the Upcoming Canon PowerShot SX740 HS

Nokishita has posted an official Canon PDF showing the full specifications for the upcoming Canon PowerShot SX740 HS.

It would seem pretty obvious an announcement is just around the corner, but it looks like it will be announced on its own as the rest of the Photokina announcements will happen in late August or early September.

Canon finally got 4K30 in a cheap camera! Looks like DIGIC 8 should certainly have the processor power to allow 4K30 in its soon-to-be-announced bigger brothers (G7X iii, M50 ii). Should be a great addition to the already-excellent image quality from both.

Because it's pretty difficult to fit the FZ330 in your jeans pocket.

Size. The FZ330 is basically mirrorless size. The SX740 will probably fit in all but the smallest pockets. And f/6.9 at 960mm isn't terrible either. Sure, I would prefer a f/2.8 or better across the whole range, but you can't do that with the tiny size. It's a matter of what is more important to you.

I'm sure it is a great camera, I would possibly prefer it over the Canon. But at around $1,200, three times the Canon, it's a little above my point and shoot budget.

With face tracking AF, IS, and 4k resolution, this camera could possibly outperform the M5 or M6 as a gimbal camera.
