Three more reasons why Canon should update XF300/305

Camcorders serve a very specific need and can do things which a DLSR or cinema camera simply cannot do. Yes, the new XF15 sounds ok, but it does not meet all the needs I would want from a true camcorder.

Canon's XF300/305 is an amazing deal at the moment considering it comes with an L lens and has great specs, but it is big, quite heavy and really needs updating in every area.

I was just reading about Panasonic's two new camcorders the AG-UX180 and cheaper AG-UX90 and started salivating. They sound amazing, especially the AG-UX180. There's also the HC-X1 which Panasonic has just announced.

Panasonic's new 1″ 4K broadcast AG-UX180 premium camcorder features a Leica Dicomar f/2.8-4.5 20x optical zoom that goes from 24mm-480mm (equivalent). It has SDI and time code jacks, among many other things.

With new camcorders like this coming on the market very soon, I do hope Canon will update the XF 300/305.
