What do you think of my collection so far or what do you recommend? I think my next buy should be the 16-35 2.8. Oh I shoot landscapes, portraits, events like volleyball and the occasional wedding

I know many people like the 16-35 and lots of great images come from it. But I rarely use it. The zoom range is attractive, but I am not happy with the results. In my view it is useless on people off center image at the wide end. With people I don't like going wider than 24mm and you already have that covered.

I bought the 17mm TS-E f4L some time back and that is optically a phenomenal lens and it has tilt&shift. But it is manual focus, fixed and slower. But for landscapes and architecture it rules totally.

If I had to start all over again (and I'll skip the long whites, since you apparently don't do birds and wildlife), here are my 5 favorites:

85mm f1.2L II, alternatively 135mm f2L
300mm f2.8L IS II, alternatively 200mm f2L IS
24-70mm f2.8L II
70-200 f2.8L IS II

I think that would cover your described activities fairly well and if the results aren't any good, don't blame the equipment

PS! I would also highly recommend the Sigma 35mm f1.4. It is fairly low cost, phenomenal IQ and it works very well for low light indoors.

Thank you very much, I would go with the 85 1.2 but i hear its a beast to focus. I want to 16-35 because i do so much landscapes, sorry to hear about that. Your advise is sound, thank you

Have and use all these, couldn't put together a better list if I tried, every one of these Lenses falls into the great list.

The 85f/1.2 L II I did find slow on my 5DMK 2 & 1DMK IV, but on the 5DMK III and particularly on the 1Dx I find it a responsive Lens, not fast, it has a Fire by wire system, so it's never going to be a speed King, but it's SHARP.

I agree also with Eldar on the 16-35f/2.8 L II, nice Lens, but, has some real distortion at the wide end, I use this Lens now mostly for my Underwater Imaging where the corner distortion isn't so noticeable, I have read a lot of Peoples comments that are Positive re this Lens, I may have a less than perfect Copy not sure, but it's not a lens I ever recommend.

The 14f/2.8L II is better in my opinion, again, not perfect, but few Ultra Wides are, but the 14 does a pretty good job I feel.

The 24f/1.4 L II is also an excellent Lens, some Purpling in Star Shots, but renders well in normal use.

I have both the Canon 35f/1.4 L and the newer Sigma 35 f/1.4 and between these two I would plug for the Sigma, not to say the Canon is a slouch either, but I feel the Sigma 35 does the job better.

I'de like to see Canon produce a WA Zoom as good as the Nikon 14-24f/2.8, I use this on my 5DMK III & 1Dx using a Novaflex Adaptor, makes it Manual, but lovely Lens.

I have to also agree with a TS-E for landscapes. Either the 17 or 24 if you don't go that wide. You can add both 1.4x and 2x TC's to the TS-E 17mm and it will still smoke the 16-35.

Except at f2.8 and versatility. The 16-35 is a good 'event' wide angle, but for landscapes I honestly don't think you can beat the TS-E.

Or if you already have Nikon, the 12-24 (or 14-24, whichever it is) + adapter? I still think the TS-E's are better and honestly is one of the main reasons I like Canon.
