I would assume it can't be very long now, the camera is supposed to be released sometime next month, and I'd expect that Canon have handed a few samples out for testing, after all they farmed a few pre production models out for early assessment.

Those non disclosure agreements that expire on Feb 7th might be a clue.

DPR only reviews production bodies, they pre-view the preliminary bodies. I do not expect to see valid reviews until after production bodies hit the street. (a review of a non production body is nice, but not totally valid)

Actually the reviews have already started...not a lot, but they have started.

Just got my hands on a G1X, we bought it as an upgrade for our G12. Haven't had much use yet but my initial impressions are very good. The camera is solid, impeccably built, and seems to function way better then the G12. It rivals my 450D *(rebel XSi) for IQ and ease of use. It looks like this is going to be a great addition to my bag of stuff... and a go to for something that you can stick in a small bag if you don't want the large DSLR for some reason ...
Heres a pic...

If people are interested i can give a run down of how it is ...or answer specific questions if you have any!

Peter

Just ordered one with the 270EX II flash (£620) . Seeing as a friend has a 270EX II I'm wondering if a pair of them with a ST-E2 will make a decent wireless macro flash, anyone tried this?

Looking forward to receiving it, and being able to judge for myself just how good it is.
