4900 USD (without lens).

You get the new 24-70 mkII for only 3500 USD.

It's in Norway.

I can beat it easily!

I'm not kidding! I live in Brazil and here is the most expensive place in the whole world to buy things.... We still don't have it for pre-order, but just for comparision, the old 5D MK II + 24-105mm is "only" U$ 7,500.00!!!!! It is ridiculous!

You can check the price on the official Canon store: http://www.loja.canon.com.br/ch/prod/456/4/0/eos-5d-mark-ii-kit-de-lente-ef24-105-f4l-is-usm.aspx

Strange, as Norway prices normally can compete with international prices on photo equipment. I travel all over the world and e.g. Singapore is not much cheaper.
So this is very strange indeed.... If they do not change this... I buy it in US over the next month....
Could be they are protecting themselfs from exchange rate fluctations..

Lets see whats happening......

Wow, that's stiff. You must be laughing at all the people complaining about paying $3,500 USD for it.

Out of curiosity, are US retailers not allowed to ship to Norway? What prevents a US retailer from shipping the camera at $3,500 into Norway?
I just did some calculations using an online import duty and VAT calculator, to import from the US into Norway, it would work out to just under $4400 plus shipping. In the UK, it would be just under $4100 plus shipping. The difference is, the UK VAT rate is only 20% compard to the Norwegian 25%. When I imported filters, I also had to pay import duty, but according to the calculator, import duty is zero rated for cameras. I know when I've looked at lenses in the past, the difference was minimal between buying in the UK and importing, so much so that it wasn't worth the loss of the warranty.

Whoho, one store is now selling the camera for $4.592 in Norway. The price has been reduced by a total of $653 since the launch (Started at $5245)

Anyways, it's not as expensive as the Dominican Republic :-) lol

Some Errors here!

Cameras might not carry any special import tax, but they are not zero rated for VAT! you will pay that at 20% for any camera gear imported from outside the EU. While camera bodies imported from outside Europe do not carry guarantees, lenses flashes & other accessories do, so you wouldn't have had a loss of warranty.
