hmmm…
what´s that for??
I wish that they could hack the 50D firmware to allow video recording at all. I don’t want it to be a production-use type situation, just something fun to play around with. :(
I wish they could hack the 40D firmware to offer some 50D features – like microadjustment.
I wish I had a 1ds with everything in the world. I wish my mom gave my more pizza. More love. I only love features – not cameraes
Your welcome, anytime. Thank you for having this great blog/rumor site for Canon gear…
Eye Candy for sure……. ;-D
Mik
That my friend is a glimpse of what the future will be. This is what it looks like when you finally break through a ships shields. Now it’s time to raid the ship and reprogram the system…….
Hudson, the hacker who did this, Thank you sir!
I wish your mom gave you more pizza.
I wish your mom gave me more pizza, too. :D
for that case is much easier, less time consuming and cost effective to buy a 60D when it is released :)
that will be soon, and of course much less expensive than a 5D Mk II, with shorter cycle time too.
CHDK for Canon DSLRs! Woo hoo! Canon may not like it but they would be silly to prevent it. It will help Canon win the hearts of some gearheads and geeks over Nikon. My CHDK has turned my SX10 in to a far superior camera.
photoshop ?
Sorry, if it is a joke I didn’t get it…
Where is the more information about the 1d4 that was promised?
+1 again. :D
The picture is of a 5D2 display after a hacked firmware was loaded, as described in the last blog post:
http://www.canonrumors.com/2009/05/hack-this-5d-mark-ii-audio-control-gain-disabled/
Why not simply buy a 50D? It’s in the shops right now…
This hack is about modified firmware, which CHDK is not.
I wish your mom would sit on my face.
?
Comon, dont leave us hanging. 1D4, 1D4, 1D4, 1D4,1D4,1D4….PLEASE!
I presure that more engineers/hackers would be willing to help if the procedure for firmware decryption was described somewhere.
There
I’ve seen at least two pieces of code for encrypting and decrypting the 5DMKII firmware (with the appropriate keys) … to be honest, that’s the easiest part by far. Understanding, modifying and writing ARM assembly code is something different, though, and there are definately less people out there that can do that competently (in the way that would be required to hack the firmware). It’s pretty easy just to change the string that contains the firmware version or to turn something ‘on’ or ‘off’ … but to write a custom menu or something like that, though (which will almost certainly be necessary) is definately in a different league altogether. I’ll be genuinely impressed by the first person that gets that done, though I’m sure it will eventually happen.
is Canon still using an OMAP-based processor? :)
I’d settle for world peace, but if I can’t have that I guess a new 1D mk IV would do as well :)
I want a hack that will turn every button on my camera into a direct print button.
I want a Direct Print Jog wheel NOW.
….
TO LATE NOW IM SWITCHING TO NIKON!!!!!!!!!! OMGLULZICON
Cool!
For some reason, I have such a hard time with these darn captcha codes. So glad this place doesnt’ use it! You can hardly read them!
I disagree. [email protected]
Hello, I have accidently found your website whilst hunting on the Internet as I am looking for some information on LCD TVs!. I think it’s a good website so I have bookmarked you and will return tomorrow to have a more detailed read when I can give it more time.
You have some great articles here. Thanks for all the work posting them. I’ll be back for sure!
Good blog. I got a lot of effective data. I’ve been following this technology for awhile. It’s fascinating how it keeps shifting, yet some of the core components remain the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their latest acquisition in the domain?
thanks, Keep up the Good work :)
