On November 11, 2025, Canon apologized for the delays in deliveries of several products due to the volume of orders. The notice listed several new items that should come as no surprise to Canon users.
Current Canon Products with Supply Challenges
---
EOS R6 Mark III with RF24-105 L IS USM Lens Kit
EOS R6 Mark III with RF24-105 IS STM Lens Kit
RF45mm F1.2 STM
Lens Hood ES-73B
Speedlite EL-1 (Ver.2)
Canon once again gave its standard apology for not meeting demands. They apologized for the inconvenience and indicated that they remained dedicated to stabilizing supply chains to be better positioned to meet demand.
We are currently experiencing delays in delivery for the following products due to the large number of orders we have received. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and business partners. We will continue to take measures to ensure a stable product supply so that we can deliver products as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

Canon R6 Mark III Body – Not Backordered!
Interestingly, the body-only version of the R6 Mark III is not listed. Only the Canon R6 Mark III kits for the time being are included. So you may want to preorder the camera body if you like it ASAP and forgo the two 25-105mm kits. Of course, this is no guarantee that the Canon R6 Mark III supply may soon be limited, and this is added to the list.

The EOS R6 Mark III and the Canon RF 45mm f/1.2 STM ending up on this list isn't much of a surprise to me. It's not as if we haven't seen this all before.
Yes, We've Heard This Before
This latest apology from Canon closely follows similar apologies from other camera and lens releases from Canon for a while now, which can be excused as ongoing supply chain issues. As mentioned in 2022, Canon provided notice of product delays concerning the EOS R3 and the RF 14-35mm f/4 L IS USM lens, due to unexpectedly high demand. Additional delays in products such as the EOS R6 Mark II and R7 received similar notices in 2022, as Canon's problems continued. In 2024, supply challenges persisted, as in July, the EOS R5 Mark II and R1 were launched.
But yet, there was still another notice, and in certain markets, stock shortages were projected to continue through the end of the year. Fast forward to 2025, this notice about the Canon R6 Mark III kit supply and RF 45mm f/1.2 STM suggests that increasing production is still not there, but I'm really not that sure that Canon wants it to be better at this time.
At least, with Canon’s consistent communication, they have acknowledged delays. They have outlined “steps” to address delays and requested patience. This at least demonstrates a better approach than they have had in the DSLR era at managing customer expectations. But nothing's changed.
As we have mentioned many times, if you want any new Canon products, you need to get on the preorder list right away, and even still, you may need to plan for extended timelines.

A kit lens should always have a rebate imho. Otherwise, I don't need to purchase a kit...
Should I also place an order? I'm already tempted...🙂
It's been like that with every lens since I started being interested in canon gear. Everyone pre-orders and about a quarter of those realise very quickly, they don't really need the new stuff and sell it again.
Besides my RF 200-800 every lens I own came through resale sites like mpb and I never spent more than 2/3 of the MSRP for lenses in perfect condition.
And, if you look at brand-new lenses or cameras from reputed grey sellers...
Yet, a few years ago, MPB Europe was an excellent address. No longer, in my opinion, unless for discontinued gear, like some EF lenses.
Also, it looks like they are selling lots of lenses with water damage, sometimes even with fungus...
Edit: I'm gonna wait for some cashback from Canon before buying the 45mm. The 45 f/1,2 is a lens for very specific uses, unlike the other 50mm lenses. Therefore, it depends on whether reviews will take this in consideration. If not (MTF or chart reviews), I won't base my decision on them. My intended use is for landscapes or close-ups, not for architecture or other corner-sharpness important pictures. I want this lens for, not despite its aberrations.
The financial risk is very low, even if you don´t like, you can sell with a minimal loss because people will be looking for it.
I´m tempted even thought I now own the 50mm F1.4 VCM. I'll still rent the 45mm to see if I prefer it.
Buying gear from mpb is even worse: Canon Ra (astronomy) had a RRP of 2.500 € and MPB sold it for 3.000 €! The R6ii has basically lived at the 2.199 € price point for the last year, yet the "like new" was still above 2.200 € for a very long time. Buying a used camera at MPB would've cost more than buying a new. one.
I recently noticed though, that prices have come down a little bit... maybe their sale numbers went because they were/ are so greedy.
I think I met the same issues when I bought the original 5D.
I'll get this little cutie! 🙂
Thanks for the tip!
The only situation that makes sense to me is if parent/grandparent wants to help junior get started with their dream (know nothing about photography/videography) and just buy the one with a lens to get them started.
