According to a reader on our forum, Canon has confirmed they're attempting to solve a service issue with his camera with new firmware. The issues with his camera have been autofocus related, and even after replacing parts of the camera, Canon service was still not happy with how it performed.

I asked if it was a new firmware and they said that it in fact is a new firmware and it should come in early next week

When we'll see the new firmware released to the public is unknown, but it could be a relatively significant update for the camera.
