A new ultrawide zoom lens for APS-C EOS M cameras has appeared. This may be a replacement for the excellent EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM. The only knock against that lens is that it's not wide enough. Image Stabilization is not part of the patent, which is a notable omission.

Canon News thinks that the primary goal of the design is to keep the focus group as small as possible to speed up AF on mirrorless cameras and for video.
