Hybrid DSLR's
A new remote(s) for Hybrid DSLRs is apparently going to be available this summer.
It's definitely a needed accessory for a lot of folks.

Even though I am the first, I don’t understand what these things are. Can someone explain :-)
There already is such a controller. Not wireless, but no hands on the camera.

I imagine it’s to start and stop video, as well as taking still images via a cabled remote or wireless.

Whatever it is the Nikon version has better AF. If I weren’t already so committed to Pentax I’d switch.
Sony might make one like that, but I doubt Nikon or Canon would.

That thing is pretty cool and considering that it is wireless, its not even overpriced.
On my wishlist for a new remote is a direct print button.
I hope that the new remote will be a direct copy of Pocket Wizard’s technology, but instead it can also act as wireless shutter, wireless flash control & video control.

Nikon video makes you get creative! 12MP is all I need. The D700 is a pro camera. The 5DII is for noobs because no one could possibly need 21MP (did I mention the AF is a joke?).

Actually, my main nit-pick is when people pluralise acronyms, since they’re their own plural. Besides, DSLR means nothing on its own: Digital Single-Lens Reflex camera is pluralised to Digital Single-Lens Reflex cameras.

I have seen it spelt this way as well but it does not mean that it is right, also it’s fairly irrelevant what you think, what is relevant is what standard is being wildly accepted and used.

Sony would definitely do a better job. They take Sony Memory cards too, which are far superior to your weak CF cards.

that would be the only thing that makes a “video remote” worth while. Just starting and stopping video from a remote is pretty useless.

Also my high ISO noise (on my coolpix) beats the 5DII any day.
The Canon RC1 wireless remote already stops and starts Video, not a lot of people know that
Nikon, pentax and Sony do it better though.

So will these remotes replace the current TC 80n3? Or be something different. I tried to buy a TC 80n3 from B&H and they say they are unable. Are they phasing them out?
