As predicted by numerous publications, Sigma has increased pricing in the United States by 10% accross its lineup due to the current tariff situation.

I suspect a lot of thought has gone into the price increases, from manufacturing and labour efficiencies to being able to withstand further volatilitiy without have to change pricing upwards repeatedly.

The price increases in the United States seem to have already taken effect at a lot of retailers and the rest of them will likely catch up soon.

The brand new Sigma 300-600mm f/4 DG OS Sports has seen its price increase from $5999 to $6599, the 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN Art to $1649 from $1499. Even the prime lenses haven't been spared, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary for example has gone up to $539 from $489.

If you're in the market for any of the Sigma gear, hurry and find a retailer that will save you that added 10%.

Dear Sigma customers,

  1. I'm not too concerned. I found Stalwart brand optics that may cover my needs.

$8.41! 4x power! It's even got a built in ringlight!
I still have to check if their factory is in the U. S.
  2. I wonder if you could glue it on a step up ring and then screw it in a lens like a filter? Image quality is probably awful, though.
the benefit of poor image quality is you won't notice if the glue drips on the lens!

I'm sorry, but I think they are crafted with pride in China.
    50% beautiful tariffs!!!!
(or more, or less, depends on the mood of the moment).

Yeah, but even a 50% tariff makes it almost cheap enough to put it under the FeEx truck's wheel as it's delivered!
  5. Sooner or later, they will adapt their prices like most Japanese companies. I'm still hoping only for the US market...
Don't worry, I've already sacrificed goats and read their entrails to increase our chances from zero percent to one whole percent!
