  • Could this be an effort to reduce 50d stock for the 60d announcement that will surely hamstring sales as most won’t want to buy a camera they know will be replaced in 2-3 months

  • I work in a camera store in Montreal and we do not offer the discounts.
Canon.ca does not metion this offer either. Where did you get that info? The rebate for the 50d should be effective today.

  • What’s the betting that most people won’t know or care?

Besides, I bought my 40D only in March.

  • I’m betting Canon would like to have the 50D in the rear view mirror. Its not a bad camera, its excellent, but people had higher expectations for it than it delivered.

  • I am coming to Montreal in October for a conference. Can you recommend a good shop? I spoke to someone who said there was a good one beginning with L, I don’t remember the name.

  • Aden Camera has posted some adjusted prices to take into account the rebate. Having said that, for example, they have dropped their prices by $100 on a 50D with 18-200mm lens whereas the rebate is said to be $150. Still their prices are very good.

  • Nice blog. I got a lot of great data. I’ve been following this technology for awhile. It’s interesting how it keeps varying, yet some of the core elements stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their latest acquisition in the arena?

  • Great post. I’ve been looking for this exact information for a while now. I’ll bookmark it in the public bookmarking sites to get you more views.
